Since this war is about the Void and what the monarchs want to do - or not do - about it, I figured it might be good to see it.

[The concept of being able to speak face-to-face through the lockets is still weird to him. But anyway. DO YOU SEE HIS EXPRESSION, TERRA? That is the expression of someone who has just discovered something Huge. Someone who has discovered something Huge and is not sure if he's shocked or excited about it.

Possibly a combination of both.]

[Pause. How does he lead into this? He shakes his head.]

I just met someone who has a Keyblade on the way to Leathann, but I've never met her before. Have you?

[He angles the locket subtly so that Terra can get a glimpse of the girl.]

[Don't worry, keyblade-son, it's still weird to him too, but the look is something that he's seen on Ven's face before, though nothing quite so serious as what he's getting from Riku. The mention of someone with a Keyblade has his attention instantly, tilting his head as though that'll get him a better look at her before he shakes his head.]

I've never seen her before. The only others with a Keyblade that I know of in my time are Aqua, Ven, Vanitas and King Mickey. [The Masters are a given, but he doesn't mention them.] You said you were on your way to Leathann?

That's right. We're sailing from the Shipyard down.

Do you want to meet her too?

I think I should. If she has a Keyblade, she's one of us.

[Important he wants to say, but that may be too much pressure for a girl who looks so young.]

I'll get in contact with Aqua too.

Hey, Terra. Did you get anything from the monarchs recently?

[He turns the video screen, angling it so Terra can see the pauldron that's laying on his bed. It's very clearly modeled after the same armor that Terra and Aqua had, but the colors are different, and there's a matching demi-gauntlet beside it.]

I found this in my room when I woke up today.

[AS IF YOU COULDN'T MAKE HIM GO INTO PROUD DAD MODE ANYMORE THAN USUAL. Terra looks mildly surprised at the appearance of the armour before he smiles, though it's just slight.]

I need to test it out before I'm sure but I think one of my magic lines got returned to me.

[Not the return of his keyblade's powers like he'd been hoping for but it was still better than only being able to make earthquakes.]

I suppose I need to teach you how to use that now, huh?

Really? That would be useful. My magic seems to be getting stronger again, but I still can't use the more powerful spells.

[There's a faint flash of bemusement that crosses Riku's face when Terra mentions teaching him how to use his armor. It's... a pauldron, Terra. He knows how to wear a pauldron.

But then he remembers Terra saying it'd be better if he'd had "the full thing" when they'd talked about his armor before. Does he mean that? ]

I take it there's more to it than just putting it on.

At this point, anything is more helpful than just having my earth magic.

[The bemusement doesn't go unnoticed and he smirks slightly. He had that reaction too, when he first received his armour, but he knows that Riku hasn't had all the formal training just yet, so he simply shakes his head.]

I'm sorry I didn't get to speak to you after what happened in Leathann, but for the time being, I've returned to Caer Glaem.

I don't know what your plans are now, but I just wanted to let you know I probably won't be going back to the island.

It's okay. I wasn't in the best mood either. Not after what happened.

I'll be traveling for the rest of the month. I don't know if I'll ever return to Caer Glaem, let alone Leathann. I have kids to take care of, and they don't need to be caught up in all this. One of them isn't allowed to step inside Caer Glaem's grounds.

I'll be stopping by Kirei's orphanage a bit later, though, if you want to meet up there.

I might have been in a better mood if the man who organized it all didn't think it was perfectly fine to have all that carnage as long as he could get what he wanted.

[ Shots fired.

But whoa, wait, back up a second- ]

When did you have kids??

I might have been in a better mood if it didn't involve that kind of sacrifice at all. Worlds can be saved without sacrificing something in their place, it should be the same.

[Pause, then realises what he just said.]

Uh, they're not my actual kids. They're keyblade wielders who are younger than me, so I need to look out for them.
